My hard drive got fried. Damn it. It was a Samsung SP<some model number I don't remember>. The guys at the PC repair shop told my dad, who in turn told me, that the disk got fried because it was underpowered. You see, I added a graphics card that turned out to be a power hog. My feeble 300W power supply couldn't handle all the hardware's power consumption.
I had been planning to back up data and reformat it. Here's a list of data I had hoped to save but lost due to the said HDD failure:
TV series: not much of a loss. They are easily reproducible. I'll just download them again through bittorrent. Or I'll just copy my blockmate's TV series archive. He watches the same shows as I do.
ebooks such as Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: lost forever. Oh my. Luckily, I was able to copy to a CD Neil Gaiman's Sandman series I downloaded.
Frets on Fire Guitar Hero add on: Oh well. I am now able to play Guitar Hero on PC anyway because of the new graphics card. Hehe
school files: Damn it! Now, digital copies of my A papers are gone. Oh wait. I don't have A papers. Hehe. Seriously, I probably have printed copies of papers and some digital copies stored in my e-mailboxes.
pictures: DAMN! My precious pictures are gone. Hopefully, there are copies stored in the other PC.
Pano nangyari yun? Tsk. Of all na pwede ma fry like modem, sound card etc, hard dicks pa! Oh well. Baka pwede pa yan marecover by a data recovery expert.
